Quentin Tarantino shuts the door on rumors about working on Kill Bill: Volume 3
Many Tarantino fans believed that the director would return to the Kill Bill universe and cast Uma Thurman’s daughter Maya Hawke in a possible sequel. However, the filmmaker has stated in a new interview that a third installment of the martial arts film would not be happening.
The fan-made @TarantinoWorld quoted Tarantino’s statement in an interview with DeMorgen. The tweet garnered over 1,000 likes with 85 retweets.
KILL BILL VOL.3 will never get made.

“I don’t see that. My last film is about a film critic, a male critic. And he plays in the 70s,” he stated in an interview with DeMorgen, putting to rest rumors about Thurman and Hawke collaborating on a Kill Bill sequel.
Tarantino set a 10-film limit for himself, and his next film about the movie critic would be his last, leaving no opportunity for a Kill Bill sequel.
Back in 2022, Thurman discussed the possibility of Kill Bill: Vol. 3 happening.
“I can’t really tell you anything about it. I mean it has been discussed over the years. There was real thought about it happening, but very long ago. I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon,” she stated in an appearance on The Jess Cagle Show.
Tarantino has stated that he had spoken with Thurman the possibility of doing another sequel and incorporating unused ideas from the first two films.
Vivica A. Fox, who played Vernita Green, and was assassinated by Beatrix Kiddo in the film series, recently discussed why fans still want to see more of this story.
“I think the main draw is that people love Tarantino’s work,” she explained to CBR in an interview. “He’s always got this weird quirkiness that surprises you, that intrigues you, [and] that makes you want more.”
Fox recreated iconic Kill Bill moments in a featured music video with SZA, fueling speculation that SZA might be cast as Fox’s character’s daughter in a potential sequel.
“I was like, ‘No, it’s just a song, and she loves Kill Bill,’” added SZA. “So I just think it’s the love of Tarantino and the magic of those films.”
